Summer Camp Communication: Camp Is Canceled This Year Sent 6/23/20

Hello Deuces Campers and Families:

In the last week we have had many families reach out to us concerned about their sons' participation in the Deuces camp after seeing the rise of Covid-19 cases in the area. After seeing Governor Abbot’s press conference yesterday and in light of the unacceptable surge of COVID-19 infections in Dallas County, we have decided to cancel the Deuces Youth camp this summer.  We are obviously disappointed in having to make this decision.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that this cancellation causes you and your family.

We will begin issuing refunds in 2 ways.  If you registered within the last 90 days your refund will go back to your card on file.  If you registered more than 90 days ago then we will issue checks to all of you within the next 10 days and put them in the mail.  We hope to see all of you at next summer’s Deuces camp under more normal circumstances.

If you have any questions, please let me know. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Coach Surran

2020 Summer Camp Communication

Read our latest email sent to campers on 5/22/20 related to camp and changes due to Covid-19

Dear Deuces Lacrosse Summer Campers,

Last night we received word from Jesuit that our summer camp is a go with original dates!  Just to recap those dates are:

  • June 29th 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • June 30th 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • July 1st 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • July 2nd 9:00 am to noon

Jesuit did ask us to remain outside for the duration of camp and all parents will be required to fill out another waiver related to Covid-19 to attend camp.

Just a reminder that everything stands with what we communicated via email the other day:

  1. If we have to cancel the camp due to Covid-19, we will be issuing full refunds.
  2. We are giving all of our currently registered campers an option to get a full refund now through June 2nd, if you are uncomfortable sending your player to camp June 2nd is a hard deadline and enables us to fill your spot should your son withdraw.  We picked the June 2nd  date so you can get the next governor update on May 31st before making your decision.
  3. We will not be providing our usual camp lunch option.  All campers will be required to bring their own lunches (you have not paid for this yet).
  4. We won’t operate the concession stand.
  5. All campers will need to bring their own water each day.
  6. More protocols to come but this is a start!

I have attached the youth camp operator’s checklist issued early this week by Governor Abbott (this shows up differently for differently for different operating systems and may show up as a link at the very bottom of the email).

If you have trouble with the attachment all of this information can be found on the Governor’s Open Texas website here:  https://gov.texas.gov/organization/opentexas

We are trying to be as flexible and transparent as possible.  We have only had a hand full of people request refunds since we sent our original email the other day.  We have had 10 players register for camp this week!  Let me know if you have any questions!

CLICK HERE TO FILL OUT THE GOOGLE FORM FOR A REFUND ON CAMP:  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScmMzuyRVgaq6bbVxWlnQSp_E6_xKhovnIPLu0u_Zzkn7F_Nw/viewform?usp=sf_link Only valid if you request the refund by 6/2/20.
